More boards ? Less boards? Feedback Requested

As I've done since day 1, I'm asking for feedback on the number of boards, layout, etc. Here are a few random thoughts that I have, and want to hear from you !

1. Add a board for Trucks. I've noticed a trend towards mid-late 50's thru mid 70's 4WD trucks that have underpinnings varying from a restoration to a complete upgrade to modern drivetrain/suspension, but still maintaining a very stock appearance on the outside.
2. As we have a Deuce-only board, maybe add 1 for: Ts & As, '33-'34, '35-'40 Fords, pre-33 Chevrolet, '33-'40 Chevy, etc. This is probably overkill, but again I want to know your thoughts on this.
3. Add a board for customs only ? It would cover any custom from the mid '30s up to the mid-70's
4. Add a board for pony cars ?
5. Add a board for tri-five Chevys?
6. Any other ideas ???
7. Or the opposite - consolidate some boards, or remove some (maybe consolidate the 'for sale' & 'wanted' boards)
8. Add some posts which are like this one (http://hotrodcraft.com/theGarage/index.php?threads/thread-links-for-the-75th-anniversary-deuces.707/ ) for other topics, such as tech, etc. (this is my favorite; I'll probably do this anyhow)

Also, what about any rules or limits ? I haven't made any real limits on what to discuss, but there are some topics I don't want to see - rat rods and donks are 2 topics which I have zero interest. Also I don't appreciate the abuse of my site for a company to have free advertising on my dime. Guys simply selling off extra parts, or posting about leads on hot rods, etc. is fine.

Please reply to this thread, or send me a pm if you want to discuss privately. Thanks !

I’d like to see the builds of car projects on there own boards. We’re kind of lost amongst everything else that the car builds are grouped in with on “Craftworks”. It also seems that the few builds that were being posted have dropped off.
A classic truck and tri-five specially might bring in some new members?
I like the idea of tech being separate from the other threads. Trucks and Tri-fives might work, too. I am trying to see what y'all think would bring in more posters. Thanks for the feedback, Duane.

What about a Harley Davidson board? Or maybe a generic “bikes only” board? Just a thought...
Ron, I've tried a bikes only board, but had such little response that it wasn't of benefit to anyone. Right now we only have a single thread - that's a clue to me as to how much interest there would be. But if y'all think we can generate enough interested, I'm for it.

I'd like to see a "Vintage Tin" like in the old magazine days.
This got me to thinking about laying out the entire forum like R&C - editorials, table of contents, tech, features, events, vintage tin, garage scene, etc. Thoughts on this, anyone ?

One conundrum that I see is with the Deuce board for example - if you have a specific board for deuces, then should the deuce built threads be in the tech section ? Or the deuce-only meet coverage be in the Events section ? One solution for finding deuce-only topics would be to create an index post for 'Deuce tech' under the Deuces board, and 'Deuce Events' also under the Deuces board. Your thoughts ???

I think the way to grow is to find a way to get the "guest" visitors to be encouraged to input We all know they are quick to put likes on Face book, Without losing the integrity of this site is there a way to allow them as a guest to leave a like or comment? Then you could do a spread sheet of which topics got the most non member comments in order to see what might get them to join in.................

Unfortunately, I have to ban at least 1 spammer every day. Occasionally they are able to get in, then I have to do clean up. If I opened it up, I think it could become a mess real quick.

I like Duane's idea of a board for builds and projects, maybe a board for shows and cruzes. Personally, i am happy with the way the site is right now but then once i get use to something it'ss hard for me to changeo_O

Just a suggestion Tom. Probably best to keep the bikes out though. Even if it takes off that may open another can of worms for the cars side of the forum.

I’m cleaning up the red 32 car now and taking photos as I go. I’ll do a build/clean up thread when I’m done. Project threads always seem to be popular.
