IDEAS FOR DEUCES

#2
I DARE someone to cut the bottom off a deuce shell, like was done on the Desbrow PU, Andereggs, Ivos and Heilikers T's and countless other hot rods and track roadsters. Guys would have a seizure.:p

More of a question than a idea.
I am looking for an affordable tool (like a couple hundred instead of a couple grand) that will do the single groove crimp like on the ferrules on OEM Hilborn hoses, but on larger sizes, like 1/2" ID hose. Hilborn and Enderle only sell 3/16" assembled hoses. I have found a $150 tool that will do a two groove crimp, but I would want to duplicate the single groove crimp like in the photo, but on bigger hose sizes. Failing that, I will just do the main feed between the pump and barrel valve in braided hose and traditional red and blue fittings, it was on TONS of race cars in the sixties anyway.

I have done this several times on roadsters. Ties the dash to the side of the body. Gets rid of the cowl shake for sure. The passenger side is a great place for a power port. Drivers side I use for the starter button and headlight switch. I also use an 1/8" strap on the bottom af the dash as seen in one of the pictures. These pics are only mockup and proper fasteners are always used. image.jpeg image.jpeg

One more little idea: I never had a good place to put my left foot when driving... so I added a third petal for my foot to rest on... makes a BIG difference! And that way it's also a REAL hot rod with three petals. LOL NONE of these are big deals but they have made my roadster much more comfortable and useful. You might try some of them.
