I know that some crew cabs were built as early as 1956 as I've seen one. It was a coachbuilt model used by the railroad. Not sure if any were made prior to that year but it is very possible.

That said, I don't like the looks either. But if we all liked the same thing we'd all be driving the same car, and that would be boring as Hell.

CP Rail had a bunch of International Harvester crew cabs in the sixties, all 4wd. UGLY as all get out, but the intent was purely functional, and they certainly were that.
