What's new

26 Roadster Build

So I got the roadster running this week. That's the good news, the bad news is I couldn't run it for very long. I bought this motor from a guy who had it rebuilt but didn't use it so it sat for many years and I don't know who rebuilt it. After running for a short time the motor developed a knock. So I pulled the side cover and dug a chunk of scotchbrite out of the oil passage leading to the center main bearing. I guess tomorrow I'll pull the pan and try to determine how bad the damage is. Hope nothing to bad Roger.Have my fingers crossed.

Thanks for asking R and B... I've sorted out most of the warranty problems, Fixed the ride height, changed the master cylinder, installed a fuel pump in the tank, fixed the alternator so it will no longer shred belts as fast I can change them. I also shortened the column drop and built a longer steering column and installed a removable steering wheel. Which means the horn is no longer on the steering wheel but I can now actually fit in the car comfortably. Got it registered using 1926 plates and insured and took it out for a short drive and I'm impressed with the torque it has in first and second gears. It still doesn't run like I'd like it to but at least now I can begin to sort that out . I'm now looking for an affordable upholstery guy. Preferably in my area of so cal, any recommendations? I can't pay GNRS prices. Heres a couple pics from a few days ago.

The t is really lookin good Roger. That first drive is always the one you look forward to. Now it's time to work out the bugs. For upholstery i've used Bills in Brea and Westminster upholstery in Anaheim. No complaints with either.

Yeah, I plan to make Father's Day. Then probably blow it apart for paint and try to get it back together for GNRS next year. If all goes well.

Westminster has been recommended and I'll probably go talk to them soon . Haven't heard of Bill's. I'm also looking at Ramirez in Rialto and Armando's in San Jacinto.
