60's style hot rods

The mid-late 60's really stand out in the hot rodding world, with the wild paint, tons of chrome, white paint on headers/rear axles/firewalls/etc. It was a fun time with cars, lots of originality with lots of Model Ts & As. Here are a few pics of my favorites

I had a 60's style hot rod...in the 60's. I initially painted it black lacquer in my garage. When I was in the Army the car was loaned to custom painter Joe Andersen and he put a flashier paint job on it.

Nothing like a set of 5-spokes to give it that '60's look . I put these on a few months back for a change from my Eric Vaughn Real Wheels ( they're in storage for a while ).

Here's a few I know. Blue 32 vicky is Don Thelan's, red 29 Phaeton is Dick Rundell's, Blue 29 sedan with lighter blue flake fenders belonged to Brian Talbert, Yellow 32 roadster is Tom Toomey's, you have Tom Booths T and the T Roadster pickup belonged to Dick Knudsen. Knudsen's I know because I owned it in the late 60's early 70's.

I really like this A rpu; it epitomizes the late 60's-early 70's style - mismatched wheels, multiple paint styles, etc. But somehow it all blends in well on this one.

Beppie , I was aware of the Early Times club as they were primarily a club centered in the San Gabriel Valley area of So Cal where I grew up . I would see these cars driving around town , in the college parking lot and at the local drive in's . Although I never knew any of them personally , their cars left an indelible image in my mind .

Beppie you were there I was here in the sixties rich kids had transistor radios but it was so new all the things tv juke box it was a teenage thing probably kids today think the same But I treasure every moment I was there sitting in Elvis,s pearl Cadillac In a tent one wet Thursday night No one there dragging on the highway Monday nights till we got busted Louie's hamburgers sat night this was Aussie but I think go t a lot to look back on as I get older I want to tidy my map of life and take the shoeboxes of photos and album them just for me as no one has time to listen to the stories having this hobby makes know that you guys understand that we are all united on this

My Hot-Rod/Drag Racer Also Had Too Be My Every Day Driver!!! I Started With A 52 Chevy That I Worked For - Mowing Grass, Odd Jobs, Setting Pins In A Bowling Alley, Etc. Until I Was Age 15 1/2!
After That Purchase, Grad. From High School, Getting A Full Time Job In A Garage, Things Got Better!
But, Still, Only Had One Car At A Time To Too Play With & Drive To Work - Year Round ( Hot Or Cold-Snowy Weather) So, I Couldn't Have A Roadster !!
Here Are The Early Cars In My Life, As I Could Afford Them.
1952 Chevy 2-Dr Sedan, 1958 Chevy Delray 2-Dr Sedan (No Photo), 60 Corvette - Hot Rod/Drag Racer (That I Loved-But, Had Too Sell When Drafted Into Service), 57- Ford Fairlain -500 (That I Took In Trade For Th. Vette & He Took Over Th Payments) The Ford Ended Up With A Modified (Home Built) 348-(14 To 1 C.R.) Equaling 409-Chevy /425 Motor Before Th Production 409 Came Out !!
