It was built by a friend and is done very well. He loses interest when they'rs done so it got driven very little. It is not the way I would have built the car but after driving it I'm kinda questioning if I've been doin' it wrong all this time, or maybe I'm just getting old!

I'm planning on leaving it mostly as is, especially the engine.  I was planning on some whitewalls but the blackwalls are kinda growing on me.

Thanks for the likes.

Mick
Let them kept growing. ;)

Mick   Mick, the only thing you need to change about your new '40 is the title... put it in my name!   (in my opinion)   LOL

There are 3 styles of Forties that I like - 1. the raked coupe with mags and nice lumpy cam, hood optional, lots of chrome. 2. custom, chopped & sectioned convertible, and 3. This one.

Finding the fuel filler door was easy, the hard part is finding the guts to cut a big-ass hole in your mint rear fender! :o ;D
jaded iconoclast, could you tell me what the gas door is from?  PLEASE

The coupe from the movie Hollywood Knights.  I think that it was also in American Graffiti, not sure.
Brooks/Hiser Coupe.   Not the same coupe that is in American Graffiti.  Started in the late 50s.  The perfect 40 IMO....  This is it I figure around 1980, Tommy Hiser is a friend an ex co-worker of my father.

Thanks for the clarification.  It really stood out in it's time; very few were modifying forties like this.
