MODEL CAR
« on: October 11, 2014, 09:11:08 AM »
With winter coming, most of us will be working on our Rods OR maybe building scale models of the real thing. I have a buddy who owns a Pro-street '35 Ford coupe and I wanted to build him a model of his rod. The only problem with that is no one makes a '35 Ford coupe.

SO, 1. I found a '35 sedan delivery [for the grill and front fenders etc.]  2. a Jimmy Flintstone chopped '36 coupe [for body] 3. AMT '36 Ford Coupe [for frame, running boards, back fenders, interior, glass. etc.]

Finished rod:  [one more thing... his license plate retracts when rod is off... down when running. SO I made the tag hinge and added a magnet so it can be up or down like the real thing]

Most rodders are fimiliar with the Danbury Mint California Kid Diecast. Back in the day you rarely saw "the Kid" without Jake's '34. SO I made a Jake '34 coupe to go with the "Kid" :
