I came across this picture recently, and was amazed at the outstanding look and quality build of this International Scout,. It made me want to start this thread for people to post hot rods built from cars everyone wouldn't think of building. Post away everyone.

Well, I tried finding more info on the IHC Scout at the start of the thread, and I found another one, seems it isn't as odd as I thought. They make an interesting roadster or pickup..

That's radical Tom. Here's some more. The Henry J isn't as odd as some, but the build style of the yellow one is. One of the cleanest, well engineered and detailed builds you will ever see.

This Euro hot rod is a fusion of a Citroen 2CV and a Ferrari F355. There are great youtube videos of it as well. Look up 2cv Ferrari.

Those 2 certainly are a couple of classy, elegant hot rods. They are also what I envisioned when I started this thread, non-mainstream cars built into fine rides, as opposed to the "show rods'.

I'd have to agree; with that massive grille it needs larger headlights.  I think that is actually a sedan made into a pickup but I'm not certain.

It is a 66, or later, VW sedan with heavy body mods, and pseudo split window added. '66 was the first year for the taller door, and side glass.  Looks like they were trying to emulate a Tatra.

It's a 1939 Hanomag, custom built by Dave Rothwell of England. Custom built frame with a BMW 328i drive train. Very few Hanomags seem to have survived.

That homebuilt sure reminds me a of a T Roadster that Chauvin Emmons ( I'm pretty sure of the spelling on the name) built with a similar nose and a lot of Indy overtones. I wonder if this is a later example of that car?
I know the basement floor is down there because it's holding everything up. I just can't see it anymore.

Nose looks pretty similar. Thats a cool car.
