1932 Ford Victoria Phaeton owned and restyled by Bernie Stein of Hayward, California. Starting out as a Victoria, the car lost its head when Bernie decided to go the open air route. The tan and white Naugahyde upholstery was done by Ron Jones of Hayward. The build cost less than $ 1000 by Bernie doing his own work, however the 1953 Chrysler HEMI engine did not come out cheap. It was fit with a hot coil and a Howard street cam. Bernie did the engine swap using a Cragar adaptor, Dodge truck flywheel, and 11" Ford clutch. The stock firewall was covered with ribbed aluminum while a small trouble-lamp matched the grille.

As far as I can see the only modification on this one is the addition of turn signals.................
That is my Vicky, she is basically stock with a warm flattie ( 4" crank, Winfield cam) and a Columbia 2-speed axle. Ted

 Just a quick tip.
When standing a 32 up on end to work on the floor, put a bar across the bottom of the cowl.
It is very easy to bend the cowl badly while the body is up on end.
I have fixed at least two and it isn't easy.  Jim

Kind of an interesting story today, lately a week doesn't go by that I am not on a parts run to some local old time rodders place. Last Thursday I was out with a buddy of mine picking up some parts in Langley, and we were talking about what my plans were for the chassis under my T-Bucket, and I told him I wanted to do a mid-sixties Chuck Finders style rear suspension with Corvair coils and kind of T-boltish short lift bars and a panhard rod, transverse front leaf with a dropped and drilled I beam, drilled and split bones, and a wb between 92"-95". He says "hey, I know a guy who has a sixties T-bucket chassis for sale that fits that description pretty close". So after a weekend of frenzied obsession, Jim called me with the guys contact info late Sunday afternoon, and this morning I went over and pulled the trigger on it.
While we were there talking, we started talking about my '39, which was started in '58 as a hot rod and never finished, and I mentioned that I was putting a side-shift cad trans in it, and mating it to the torque tube. He got all excited, and said " I know a guy that has a blue '32 Vicky in his basement, it has the same trans set-up in it, and its also an old hot rod that was built around the same time as your car. It was in Hot Rod in the late fifties, it was from New West."
I haven't seen it yet but I IMMEDIATELY knew which car it was, I am SURE its gotta be this car. I am going to see if I can arrange to get a look at it, and maybe shoot some pics.

Just loving all  the pictures of all of the other Vicky's on here. I am familiar with a few of them already and was fortunate enough to have met up with some of their owners whilst visiting America. Some truly great people!

Hi Tom, no real plans for it at the moment. It needs a few things like door handles, locks, door glass fitting, interior etc.It runs and drives well though which is more important so I am not in a rush to get things done. I have a sedan to play with as well which is more complete. Thanks for asking. Brilliant web site by the way!
