My favorite British sports car as well.  I even have a grille for one - bought it on a whim years ago.

Everyone loves a long story....so here's a longer one:

Early December 1953, I'm 5 years old and am going to the White House department store in San Francisco with my Mom, Dad and 14 year older brother.  So I'm getting ready to sit on Santa's lap, and give him the grocery list for 53 Christmas, and my brother leans over and sezzzz:  "Tell him you want an Austin Healey 100 Sports Car".  So I did.  Christmas morning comes, and I look outside for my brother's new car, and surprise(!), it's not there!   After some disappointment, I opened my packages under the tree and found a balsa kit manufactured in Pasadena of the Healey, so...I lived with that.

High School comes around in the 60's and my buddy shows up with a 56 100-4 Healey.....I was NEVER THE SAME!

Fast forward to about 13 years ago, 2 AM and I surfin' Ebay.  There's a December 10, 1953 Austin Healey from a swamp in Florida that was being held together with spit!  Of course I HAD TO OWN IT, and surprise (!) I was the only one in the entire planet that bid on it.  What a mess!  I kept it for a couple of years, then finally came to the realization that it was never ever going to be built.  Back to Ebay.  Sold it to a guy in France.  The shipper shows up and I had to SHRINK WRAP THE CAR THEN DUCT TAPE IT to hold it together!  When they tried to load it, it nearly FOLDED IN HALF!
And now....much wiser, and far more older (the 13 years ago), I'm lookin' again.

Like 32'z and C-1 Vettes, the early 100-4 Healey's never get out of yer system................................................................
