Here a couple I crewed on in the past. That's my brother in the red Cougar runner bottom, and the Cole Hydro Airtime of Tom Rasmussen.  I'm 2nd from the right in the back row. Boy that's a few years and a few pounds ago. That little guy in the front, is my nephew, youngrodder1929, here and on the HAMB. He's in his mid 20's now.

HAVING FUN YET SAM ?

Oh MAN... that pic brings back some scary memories!!!  In the early '70's, I had "illusions" of having a fast boat.  My wife and I spent
many a weekend at Buckskin Campground on the Colorado River with our friends who actually did own a nice boat.  One weekend our
friends ran into a couple they'd met at Marine Stadium... they owned American Pie, a Howard Pickle-Fork Hydro that had recently pulled
a barefoot skier through the 1/4 mile at 105 mph.  My friend hooked me up for a short ride in the hydro... without a doubt the ultimate
to this day in "speed sensation!"  The short back-rest seats and nothing to hold onto damn near put me in the headers :o :o

Here's a piece of drag boat history, the "Miss British Columbia" Top Fuel Hydro, slated for a complete restoration. This was the former "Climax".  If anyone has any pics of this boat, please post them, as it may aid the restoration of such a historic vessel.

Here's another favorite competitor from the past, Wally Zoon in his beautiful Cole hydro, "Oregon Thunder".  Nothing like the set of a Cole hydro. Does anyone out there have any shots of the one I crewed on, "Airtime", whether from the Jim Epler, Dave Webb or Tom Rasmussen ownership. Airtime was also used on the Cole boat ads.
