Here's a couple of nice looking (and FAST) engines to get started with.  I'm squarely in the 48IDA Weber carburetor camp mainly because it's the "old-school" traditional way of getting the job done but that's not to say turbos or fuel injection don't perform because they do!

Some highly-detailed engines for sure!  I like the engine in the first pic best; nice color combo plus I have always liked the VW mint green.
