Here are a couple of sketches/renderings I did for an AMBR contendor a few years back. There are stacks of sketches that are created on these type of builds when I work with talented builders like SAR.  A scan out of my sketch book of a channeled pickup concept I might build out the channeled 36 I have.

Well it is  a long weekend up here in Canada, so we got to play a little. My grandson came over and we applied some flames to my old cement donkey and cart. After that i did a quickie paint job on my mail box too.  Then we fired up the hot rod smoker that I have made from an old compressor tank for a great rib fest................what more could you need.  The only problem today has been the weather,  mid 90's with very high humidity..............should breed some thunderstorms for tonight.  I hear Oklahoma has been plagued by tornado's today,  hope everyone down there is ok!

Red, I have never really timed my burnings but if I had to guess I'd say it takes about 8-10 hrs. It's a slow process and I take a lot of breaks. LOL   P.S. Also, although I live in TN. I spent my time between cars and skateboards.  And still have a Jacobs 9' 10" surfboard hanging in my garage. BUT hot rods have won out in my later life.

Some stuff from the past... The first one is a 30 x 40 painting of a Corvette I call 'Self Portrait' because there is a reflection of me in the headlight bezel : ) plus a C1 Corvette is on my 'Bucket List'!  The second photo is a painting I did for a good friend's birthday. This is a painting of his 34 cabriolet with his restored Victorian home reflected into the side of the car.  I used pearl paints to create subtle secondary reflections, it is difficult piece to photograph.

Let me make this clear! I am  by no means any kind of artist! What I post is works of other people I have run across on the web, or has been sent to me by others! I can not in any way take credit for any of these pieces of art. I may have mistaken the title of this post. The only artistic talent I have is making a mess out of what ever it is I'm trying to draw, or paint! You guy's on the other hand have talent and artistic ability's oozing out in very fine fashion! If I am ruining your original intension of this post please delete what I have posted. Here are a couple more from my files done by others.     Joe

In the early 80's I did this color pencil on black drawing board rendering of my old chopped 40 Merc.

Street Rodder magazine used it in a feature article they did on the car in 1982.

I used to do a lot of freelance work for NHRA, Goodguys and some magazines, but since I retired I haven't done much artwork at all. Tough gettin' old i guess.

Thanks for the kudos guys, i was just a hack cartoonist and illustrator but people like Tom Fritz are artists.
Tom is my hero and a very nice person as well.

Here's some stuff i did quite some time ago. The roadster and streamliner for good friends Fred Larsen and Don Cummins, sadly both gone now.

Caricatures of Dave Mathison's 35 roadster, and my 69 Boss 302 Mustang.

I didn't make copies of very many color renderings as they went to the customer, so most of the artwork i have are just line drawings, so I'm not sure they would be of much interest. I have printed out some line drawings for the grandkids to color and they seem to enjoy that.

Thanks again,

Mick

The look of the characters in that cartoon says one thing for sure, Don Jolley. He always had a particular style for drawing people and his work was sometimes seen in late '50's early '60's R&C Magazine.

This picture is from a few years ago. Our car club "The Recyclers" took a fall foliage cruise. That's my older brothers 50 Olds 88 and my 442 in front of the restaurant we stopped for breakfast. The original is first and the one I messed around with is second.  Joe

Many years ago, when this car was first completed, I drew a picture of it. The Lil John Buttera built Willys owned by Joe Hrudka of Mr.Gasket at the time.
It's a crying shame what happed to that car.

Beppie had a post with Pure Hell's SBC in the early days and it made me think of this print. With that car being my all time favorite fuel altered I can't imagine why I never posted this before. Guasco signed it at the '99 CHRR.

Beppie had a post with Pure Hell's SBC in the early days and it made me think of this print. With that car being my all time favorite fuel altered I can't imagine why I never posted this before. Guasco signed it at the '99 CHRR.
