That first "car"lives about 2 blocks from me here in Canada. He has two other rides as well, all on late model chassis that just don't quite fit, hence the extended noses due to forward engine placement. The other two are finished a lot nicer than that one, but just don't look right.

Proportions off, mis-matched components, no discernable style, etc.

I like a lot of different styles, but when it is apparent that there was no real thought process in the design, I just don't get it.  A lot of time and/or money for 'shock value' I guess.

I guess they dont go to hot rod shows or read books. I often wonder what they think (if they do) when they see really nice well proportioned hot rods. Do they think that those owners have got it wrong !!!!

This thread's like a train wreck.  Adding another train, this one on a commercial scale.  Close just doesn't cut it with me when replicas are made.  I understand lengthening doors, or making 'phantoms', but to try to build a replica, and be so off, seems like a waste of time.

Some people go thru a ton of expense & energy to build a car that's different.  Sometimes if works.  Most of the time it doesn't.  Don't get me wrong; I like to see people think out of the box.  But sometimes the box is there for a reason...

That roadster could be fixed though.....drop an axle under it and shorten the front up......might have been a problem of economics............took the cheap clip and got on the road...........at least the back half is ok.

Right - if they would just stand back and look at the proportions before running those final welds.....
I also think the rear is too far back, but maybe that's just the camera angle.
Definitely a low-buck build, but they could have attained a great look with the same amount of $ IMHO.
