Uncle Ray nailed it...lots of work trying to emulate his perfection (but I did add my twist to it with his approval of course)

Cool thread !  thanks for the pics.  Coupsters were very common in the late 50s-early 60s, but your uncle's was one of the best.

another one from my formative years, those 1967-68 Hot Rod magazine cars that really got me started on this stuff. Some might find the ultra short proportions of this one a little jarring, but it works for me, especially with the contrast from those 11x16 racemasters. Really like the Dodge windshield on this car too. Coupe with it looks like about a foot cut out of the doors.

When I was on the HAMB, I actually coined the phrase "poopster" for a pick-up with the roof cut off, but it never caught on... ??? ::)

I like these T&A crossbreeds using the late closed T cowl. I liked the "Owl T" PU so much, until I got my T-Tudor body I was looking for parts to build one. Davy, is that your garage door in the second pic? That's HILARIOUS!

That is a pair of plywood silhouettes on my neighbors front porch..... ;D   the reason for the crossbreed is that is how she found it on the side of the thruway with a for sale sign on it.....it was funny, we were on the way home from thanksgiving dinner at relatives in downstate NY,  I get home and my daughter hands me a photo she had taken with the long lens on the camera...it was the sign with the phone number and then she says she wants it.......next weekend we went back with a trailer and a wad of cash........

I kind of hesitate to even post this, at this point its not much more than a pile of parts and a pipe dream. Its got three cars ahead of it on my list of priorities, and if I am really honest with myself, it may not ever even be built, but heres a photoshop based on a pic of Louies car, that Ruben Duran did for me of my planned coupester project. At this point, I have a rough '27 T-coupe body, a re-pop '26-'27 roadster tulip panel, a Desoto hemi, the short bar lancers, a wavy mopar axle with '32/'34 spindles, hairpins, a '33/'34 steering box, Lincoln front brakes, a 3.70 '55 chevy rear, a set of four 15x5 forties era Ford wheels, a '31 roadster windshield frame, a set of Model A rails, some random forties era SW gauges and not much else. ;D
