It would! Then again, so is a hilborn injected T-Bucket, or a full-fendered T-Tudor with a 270hp 283 clone! So many cars, so little time! And between looking at pics of the Leever and Esser '29, and my buddy Doug Currans car, torsion bars and a round tube chassis kind of have me thinking about skipping the Model A rails and starting from scratch. With what I have planned, there wouldn't be much "Model A" left of the frame anyway...

I spent the last 20 minutes scouring Kurtis photos, I'm convinced its a Kurtis piece, and I think its off an indy car. I am going to message him and see if he will ship to Canada.

George, I think that arm is for a Midget and those typically weighed 750-850 pounds. The seller says C-C is 6” and when you look at the hole for the torsion bar it looks pretty small. Kurtis torsion bars for Midgets were usually 9/16” diameter, and from info I found you are looking at 275-300#/corner max with torsion bars like that.
I know the basement floor is down there because it's holding everything up. I just can't see it anymore.

Hah! Concurrently with you posting this, I have been doing more digging on my own, and have decided to take a pass on this piece. As I dig more into this, I have decided that the arms should be the LAST piece of the puzzle, not the first. I have to figure out the bar length/diameter/spring rate and how to package all this before I select the arms. Tying myself into a 6" arm length at the start is going about it from back to front, which is pretty typical for me anyway. ::) ;D
The more I dig, and the more I think, and look at the Leever and Esser car, and the Spaulding track roadster, the more convinced I am that I really want to do longtitudinal torsion bars. I have been rolling the idea around in my head for close to a year now, it just solves SO many packaging issues, and will take a ton of weight off the car as opposed to my original idea of a typical transverse front leaf with 1/4 elliptics in the back. And being able to tweak the ride height independent of the spring rate is just the icing on the cake. Looking at Doug Currans torsion bar model A chassis last fall was really the turning point, and I am going to be out at his place tomorrow, we will have a long talk about it, and I will shoot some pics of his chassis and post them on the hot rod chassis thread on Sunday or Monday.

Tom posted a photo of this car on the Model A Roadster thread before the Coupester thread existed, but it fits better here. I really like this, well proportioned it is not, audacious it is! They don't build 'em like this anymore, and its a pity!

The 1st T Bucket that I built I found a Drag Master round tube frame with torsion bar front and added a vette rear. One of the best riding buckets I had.
