There was a set of four Skylarks at the swap I was at last Saturday. He was asking $1300, and I was drooling over them! They had a little bit of rust peeping through here and there, but not too bad. But by the time you add the cost to restore them, too rich for my blood! If I won the lottery, I could pick those up, and combine them with the Latham set-up that shows up at Monroe every year, add my 324 Olds and '39 Convert, shake well...YOUZA!

I know the basement floor is down there because it's holding everything up. I just can't see it anymore.

At the time, I liked it, it was completely fresh and different, and I did/do appreciate the craftsmanship and originality that went into it, but now I look at it and find it too soulless and austere. It was also a harbinger for what I consider the lowest period in hot rod history. Its strictly my opinion, but Bauhaus should not be applied to hot rods, they are not appliances. Hot rods are inherently romantic, and should stick to impressionism.
