DaveG's Internal Combustion Festival

Dave Galassi threw his well attended gig yesterday.  Usually, it's held in three digit temps but this year it was 85 or so, much to every ones enjoyment.
A taco cart took care of the eats and Dave made sure there were plenty of brews to wash 'em down with.  Outside, Ernie the Attorney, Sayonara, and
several others roasted the pavement while folks shared their own stories on the sidelines; it doesn't get much better!  Cool to hang out with Striper and
his pal, Keith (burgundy roadster).  With DaveG being a VW guy at heart, there was plenty to look at this year with cars from DKP and DKK plus a nicely
restored split window with a dual carb'd motor and plenty of neat accessories.  The ICF is by invite and you've got to drive something "interesting"  for
that to happen.  Plus, you gotta to be a car-guy....  ;)

thanks for posting these Red, some cool stuff there. I think I remember that orange '29 highboy being in Hot Rod in the early seventies.

Thanks Red for the great shots, but especially what has to be the one and only photo ever taken of Phil and Keith caught sitting in lawn chairs. This just never happens.

This '74 914 2.0 caught my eye... especially all the dry-sump oiling stuff under the front hood.  The motor was built and the
young owner knew everything about what was inside; unusual nowadays.  The suspension has been modified considerably...
stiffer torsion bars and urethane bushings.  Nice to see!

Thanks for all the kind words, guys!  The guy with a beer in one hand and an ice cream cone in the other proves what DavyJ
pointed out... "must be close to heaven" ;D  This years gathering was tame compared to past events thanks to the new Metro-
Link station (with many cameras) though I'm sure that everyone still had a great time.  That's some funny stuff about Phil & Keith
and their lawn chairs!  I got a chance to chat with Todd Hoffman... asked him if he knew of Shirley Shahan; his answer was YES!
