Originally constructed as a 3/8 scale model for display next to the full size car at General Motors' Motoramas, the car was destined for destruction until GM designer Harley Earl liberated the model and had it converted into an electric car for his grandchildren to play with. It is the only surviving remnant of GM's Club de Mer design.

About 15 vehicles in our local Car Club made a 50 mile road trip today for lunch and a visit to a private car collection.  It was a nice collection of unrestored cars.  Here are the pedal cars.

Here are pictures of our 2 pedal cars.  The first one was so rough (all we got was what you see) that I turned it into a light for the garage (the 2nd picture).  I purchased the blue one a couple of months ago.  The rust will be removed and it will be cleaned up but it will not be restored.

I did not get our 2nd pedal car pictured in the previous post that will not be restored.  Here it is.

Here are few photo's I took from the Petersen Museums 85th Anniversary pedal car exhibit at the GNRS. They where built by different shops then auctioned off for charity.

Sorry my photos are too large for this forum
