Parking brake.   This car had been chopped, and the roof and vent filled in the 1950's.  I didn't have room under the car to have the  brake in the normal places, so I attached it to the vent mount.  I thought it might put to much stress on the cowl, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  It can be reached from the drivers seat but it is definitely not an 'emergency' brake.     Bob

I really don't like the look of the alternator hangin' in the breeze, I also don't care for the "Import" look alternators. So on a few cars I've used the GM CS 121, still looks like a North American alternator and puts out 80 amps. Small enough to fit between the frame and a SBC in a deuce. Here's one on Doug's motor.

Duane crafted the nifty little adjustable bracket to mount the alternator and painted it to match the maroon on the block. I've seen billet ones for sale..... but hey..........who wants billet?

Funny, I saw these pictures of the spreader bar and thought "Gosh, we had one like that on the roadster".  After looking through our pictures, I realized that the one pictured above is the one that we sold on eBay almost 4 years ago.  The roadster's previous owner had pulled a small tear drop trailer with it and we had no need for it.  The car came with a regular spreader bar so it was one of the first things to be removed when we got the car.  Small world!  Always fun to see pictures that you took show up again someplace else.

I never took a pic, but a buddy of mine that was an old-time hot rod guy from way back made a really nice looking bull-nose/grill shell ornament in a really unique way. I had NO idea what it was or where it came from till he told me, he had taken an antique art-deco silver spoon, cut the spoon part off and ground a slightly rounded point on that end, and used the handle , formed it to follow the contour of the grill shell, but with a slight kick-up at the end, and silver soldered a small V8 emblem from an Explorer to the pointed end, which was just above the grill insert. The end with the kick-up was at the back of the grill shell just ahead of the end of the piano hinge on the hood. I was totally convinced it was some uber-rare 1930's Ford piece I had never seen before until he told me what it was. It was really very slick.

been installing a few power window sets this winter..    found a few old braided hoses at work,  stripped the covers off and then got some nylon top hat bushings from Mcmaster Carr for $ 1.18 each...........wire door looms for under $5.00 a pair     use gear clamps on the inside of the door and jamb to hold them in place braid slides in and out with ease.......
