Hot Rod Hill Climb and Reliability Run, Georgetown, CO

This past week we drove our Deuce from Petersburg, IL to Georgetown, CO for the "Hot Rod Hill Climb".  We drove Route 36 all the way to Denver and returned home on I 70 driving a total of 2180 miles.

The "Hot Rod Hill Climb" is in its 3rd Revival year.  The Hill Climb itself is for traditional hot rods powered by pre-1954 motors (flatheads, 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder engines).  Since our car does not meet those specifications (modern 302 Ford / 5 speed), we were only able to drive in the Reliability Run that was held on Friday.  The Reliability Run was open to all pre-1964 cars.  The run started in Golden, Colorado and covered 66 miles through the mountains past Red Rocks Amphitheater, over Squaw Pass with elevation of 10,600 ft., through Idaho Springs and ended in Georgetown.  The roads were smooth and the views were spectacular.  About 80 vehicles participated.  It was a lot of fun and Georgetown is a beautiful little town.  The Hill Climb on Saturday was great fun to watch with just over 100 vehicles racing the 1.5 mile course up the mountain.  Following are some pictures we took of '32s.  We have also included a link to a thread on the H.A.M.B. where we posted pictures of more than just deuces.  This was a driving and viewing event.  It was not a "sit behind your car after you polished it" kind of event.  Check out their web site for more information:

Few more Reliability Run pics and then pictures from downtown Georgetown with cars everywhere, live music and later in the day some rain.
