Here are some pics.  Unfortunately I arrived just after several went on a cruise, so I missed some of the cars.

Jim Barry's 3w.  This car has some history.  Jim drag raced it in the 50's with a flathead.   Known as the 'Overhead Headache', it beat several cars including the Rolling Stone roadster, before Jim retired it, later making it into a street rod in the 70s.

Mural Cook's roadster.  Mural bought this roadster at the LA Roadster show approx 19 years ago, and have put over 50k miles on it since !  The body's glass of unknown manufacturer, and the chassis was probably built in the late 50's, with '36 rear bones and '57 Olds rear.  I really like this ol' hot rod !

Ray Roberson's 5w.  Ray was all set to build a hiboy phaeton when this 5w body was made available.  This 5w's mint; it still has the original floor, etc.  A real nice 5w.

And finally, Roland Payne's roadster.  You may recognize this as the old Barry Lobeck roadster, with the build featured in a huge Street Rodder article in the 90's.  Roland drives this Wescott-bodied roadster (Barry preferred Wescott over any other) ALL OVER; having gone to the LA Roadster show several times.  He just got back from Pigeon Forge.  Note the top.  It's a Sid Shavers' Bop Top which Roland modified.  It seems that Barry ordered a 2" chop version and never put it on.   When Roland finally decided to put on the top, he noticed that it should have been for a 4" chop.  So, he modified it to work.  Later, Sid saw this roadster and asked 'who built the top'....  Roland said 'it's one of yours !', to which Sid couldn't believe at first, but then saw that it was indeed one of his own.  Sid made some templates from this top, and now sells it.  I saw it the car and can attest to the additional head room; it's nice.  Roland made wind-wings a few years ago and really was pleased with the noise reduction inside the car.  Also - the paint ?  It's single-stage 1970 Ford Fleet Red.  Grille is a Mustang color.  Barry painted the grille orange so that, if you saw this car in your rear view mirror, you would know who it was.  Barry was a real character; we miss him.

One more story about this car.  At one of the LA Roadster shows, Roland met Bruce Meyer, who bought Barry's original roadster.  Roland thanked Bruce for painting the car (black with checkboard scallops), to which Bruce was surprised, as he said that NO ONE has ever said that they liked the paint job.  Roland explained 'Barry hated the paint job so much that he had to build another.  If Barry hadn't built this car, I would not own it today !'

Thanks.  Most of these cars are driven, and have been on the road for several years.  I saw lots of:  chrome wires, 4-bars, and hemis !
