I just got off of the Oldsmobile Site much like this one (I guess that there are blog sites for everything these days).  Someone showed up at a Texas swap meet with a perfect barn find 50 Olds Rocket 88 sedan that had real patina and torn upholstery, for sale at $3500.  A member photoed the car in a video.  Half the people loved it and half of the people discounted the car due to the patina.  Amazing!  It was a BARN FIND!!!  My 32 roadster has been in a state of suspension for 3 years!!!!  It needs paint, wiring, plumbing, and upholstery.  If, through some miracle, I get the plumbing and wiring done, I'M DRIVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   The hell with the patina...no patina.  I could drop dead tomorrow and I DO WANT INSTANT GRATIFICATION.   Just my opinion.

I respect your honesty much more than the self justification that usually comes from the patina crowd. I'm serious, no sarcasm intended. 90% of the cars that get the "patina" term applied aren't "patina'd" in the first place, they are just rusty and unfinished.
Heres a link to some real honest to god patina.
