I have always appreciated Randy's advice, so I am posting this in his honor  (-Tom):

I know most everyone SAYS that they are tired of the typical SBC in a 32 Ford  ::)

But that is what I have in both of my 32's.
In 1999, General Motors came out with a limited edition
350 cubic inch engine with 430 HP and 430 pounds of torque. They limited the production to  only 430
They were named  ZZ430. I have the last one GM made ( #430 ) in my 32 roadster.

I was so satified with the 430 HP in the roadster ... when another one
became available a few years later, I bought it also.  ;D

I have number 216 in my 32 3W coupe.
I also have bought number 188 ( in pieces ) from a another rodder here in SC.
He won it in a raffle ... and promptly killed it in a 63 Nova.
He beat the oil pan up ... to clear the Nova frame and oil starved the engine.  ???
I had the install a new crankshaft in it ... but it sits patiently waiting
for it's turn in a 32 Ford.

I have a Rover V8 and a 5 speed gearbox in my 32 roadster.
It's 215cu ins and i get around 25-29 mpg. When we are paying over £6 per gallon (thats over $10 per gallon), this little engine was a good choice. It's pretty fast too. I have run a 14.2 sec ET at the strip and all i did was increase the size of the jets.
