Pics 2 and 3 above were taken by me at the first Tulsa Nats.   This hot rod really stood out from the resto-rods !

Built by Gary Kessler of St. Louis in early 1970's.  Sold to Don Ward of St. Charles MO (who stills owns it today).  Has been re-painted and wore a couple pairs of wheels/tires, but basically always the same.
Mr. Kessler cloned HIS OWN ROADSTER, which was chronicled and featured in TRJ - Number 55.

On a personal note - THIS was the car that sent me down the hot rod road.  Saw it in 1979 - didn't know a '32 Ford from a pancake - and I was hooked!!

Your last 3 pics are of his new roadster that he cloned.  That's him standing next to the pic with the  left side of the hood up. Your other pics are of the original and cloned car.  Both cars are vey nice with lots of horsepower.  The way a Hot Rod is supposed to be in my opinion.

Cool story thanks for filling in the blanks.

Nothing like dragging up an old thread, but here's a few more photos of the original Kessler roaster.  (The shot, above, by the restrooms is one I took a few years ago)

These were from a breakfast get together in the StL area a couple of years ago.

I was digging through my archive of photos on my web site (for some reason the gallery program broke, and I haven't taken time to fix it)

Here's a couple of shots that Dad took of Gary's roadster in Memphis, 1971
