FROM STREET RODDER.
“Limefire” is arguably one of the most famous cars Chapouris and company have built—second only to the “California Kid.” After a couple of owners, the car is back in the family as Chapouris’ son-in-law, Greg Betzler, now owns the rod, which was built in 1987.

GNRS lineup. Limefire in the middle one of 3 great 80's built roadster's!

With a few other Roadster's.

The roadster on the left is the Roy Brizio roadster which kind of opened the door for SB Ford engines in a hot rod. Obviously not the first hot rod with a late SB Ford but probably one of the most notable. The red full fendered roadster is the B&M Project Street Rod which is now owned by me and driven regularly. While I was at B&M I was involved with all three of these cars plus the Boyce Asquith yellow '32 seen in some of the photos in this thread. B&M supplied superchargers and transmissions plus many other components for all of these cars. Attached is a current photo of the former B&M Project Street Rod. 540 HP and 11.61 - 120.16 in the quarter.

I don't remember the exact times but Limefire didn't let any grass grow under it. As I recall it ran a 10.87 at about 135 mph. It was driven by Phil Lukens of Blair's Speed Shop in Pasadena. I was there when the run was made and I think it was at Bakersfield.
