No chop...............was going full fendered but since I bought the other fordor with fenders and all done this one will be a hiboy............... I will save the fenders for later. A 270 inch Hemi and a 350 trans. I picked a real nice subtle greyish tan...sparce interior, maybe even blanket covered seats, for sure rubber mats for floor, no carpet, no radio, full hood, steelies and small caps pretty basic.

I've not posted here before, so we will see if I'm smart enough at my old age. Just picked up this fordor that had the same owner since 1964. It was sold new in Aberdeen, Wa and was a hot rod by 1957 with a sbc. John got it at a sheriff's sale from a body shop that filed a lien. After blowing the first engine he found a new 327 in the wrecking yard, a T 10 and a 57 Chev rear completed the running gear behind the dropped axle. He cruised and raced until parking it in 1974. Two months ago a long time friend finally talked him out of it, but realized he didn't need this project and put it on Craigslist. Did I mention my first wife left in 1974 and took my 1966 Impala, ( Aztec Bronze, low mileage) and moved to Aberdeen. For a minute I felt guilty for taking a long time local semi famous Hot Rod from the guys in Aberdeen, but I quickly decided that it was a pretty good trade for my Impala. I got a lot of wrenching to get it running, not going to change much. The interior was done by'57, a couple of pieces of glass are bad,but going to leave it alone for now.

Pull the plugs, and squirt "Marvel Mystery oil" into the cylinders,  let it sit for a few days.  Then pull the flywheel cover off and use a pry bar on the teeth of the flywheel. Go back and forth very gently and slowly so you don't damage the rings. I did this with a seized 327 in a 36 Chevy pick up a few years back, and it worked like a charm.  Of course how it will run also depends on what condition it was in when it was parked................good luck,  remember to ease into cranking it over very gently.  patience is the key.

I will confess that I'm not a big fan of full fendered cars with radically chopped tops, to each his own of course......but a Hi Boy Sedan 2 or 4 door REALLY looks good with a couple inches removed and this car is pretty much perfect. Ok....the black 5W in the background also looks sweet chopped a little.

Funny thing about this thread is 20 years ago the 4 door was nothing more than a parts car,,that's what I was told about my 4 door.

Today they are actually sought after. HRP

I'd say 11 1/2 years ago  ;) ...  Once we had kids I decided that a more-door would be the way to go; trouble is that's when the price shot up !

As Noel said the Sedan does have history however it's only the body from the original car. It was first built as a Rod about 1962 & has been a Rod ever since. I purchased the Sedan in 1992/93. At that time it was only the body on a new frame that was fitted with a Mitsubishi front end, semi elliptic sprung rear & 307 chev/turbo400. I pulled the car apart about 2005 & sold most of it off keeping the body & using other bits to go into a 5W Coupe.
When the original car was sold it at one time rebuilt as a show car. When it was resold it went through several owners before the body was removed & replaced with a Vicky as I recall.
In late 2009 a rebuild commenced & it was reregistered in March 2011.
The first photo was taken under the Sydney Harbour bridge when the Sedan was first registered. Incidentally the bridge was opened in 1932.
The second photo is from 2003 & the last on the cars maiden Rod Run in 2011.

Some of you know I drug this home a couple of years ago...

It cleaned up pretty well...

But it needed a little attitude adjustment, so we pulled out the stock frontend...

and put in an old Mor-Drop axle...

Which resulted in this...

With a reversed eye rear spring, minus a few leaves in the rear, we got this...

and here is the final look...
