Surfin' & hot rods
« on: December 05, 2012, 09:11:22 PM »
Hot rods played a big part in some of the 60's beach movies, notably Bikini Beach which had several famous cars featured.   I don't know what came first in the surfing lifestyle, the movies or the hot rods themselves.  The surfing lifestyle is also one which I can relate to the best, having spent lots of time on the beach & scuba diving.

Woodies & wagons were the vehicle of choice, giving lots of room for the longboards.  Nearly every woodie meet features a slew of woodies with boards on top, regardless of the woodie owner ever being a surfer !
