TUNA*CAN ................. Willys 77 coupe build
« on: April 12, 2016, 09:09:46 AM »
I've searched a long time for one. As the story goes I called a guy who knew a guy who might know a guy willing to sell one. Well a deal was struck, a U-shipper picked it up in PA. brought it up to ND. & I hauled it the rest of the way.

So the mock-up begins, it's all about the packaging in this one.
First off plans were for a dropped axle/4 bar configuration. I talked to Jerry Slover at Pete & Jakes about the front suspension and special ordered a narrowed 3" dropped "Gasser" axle, which is patterned after the old Bell Auto axles.

Once those were squared away, leveled & tacked in I added the middle section. It follows & bolts to the stock sub-rails.

Willys are cool and the 77 is the best. Looks like a fun project and it's off to a great start.
I know the basement floor is down there because it's holding everything up. I just can't see it anymore.
