1959 250 GT PF

I did a body restoration on a '59 250 PF back in the early 80's. The owner ran out of money and pulled the car just before final paint. I was heart-broken - the only Ferrari I ever worked on.. The car eventually got finished and went on to win a number of awards. The owner finally made his lifetime trip to the Ferrari factory in Italy a few years back. Had a heart attack on the plane back to the states - realized his dream but didn't live to tel the talel. Maybe we all end up the same.

I'm a huge fan of the 250 GTO's and the like through the 60's. I do remember that the PF body was not what I would call a coach built beauty. The nicest panel on the car was the aluminum hood. The fiberglass deck lid was full of bubble voids after stripping and the steel body contours were literally finished with a heavy coat of early filler. I was disappointed.

I like this photo, seems a down to earth Ferrari shot. Something a hot rodder can relate to.
