I was talking to Doug Curran yesterday, he mentioned that he had a 2x4 409 in his '55, which I saw run at Mission many times in the seventies without ever realizing it was a 409. He got the engine off a guy who had it in a Morris Minor, later sold it to a friend of his who still has it. He hasn't done anything with it, Doug is trying to buy it back, but the guy doesn't want to sell.

Heres a follow-up, Doug sent me a pic of his '55 last night, at this point, it had a 327 and a hydro-stick Doug built and 4.56's, was driving to the track and running 12.70s@110, this is the early seventies. Was a little quicker with the 409(not much), that was around 1976-77, just before the first track closed.
