Back on May 25th Tom posted a photo of Lou Baney's shop, that's Lou on the left. By then the car was known as the Shelby Super Snake but it was originally the Brand Motors Special, Brand was Baney's Ford dealership.
I know the basement floor is down there because it's holding everything up. I just can't see it anymore.

Great car, I followed the Outlaws back then and the Blaney/ Luna Ford was one bad ass Cleveland.

Your post today of a Brand Motors rail with McEwen's name on it confirmed that, but I went back and checked out an article in Rodder's Journal 72. The car was originally the Yeakel Motors 426 hemi car. Baney also owned Yeakel and had the car re-bodied and a Pink cammer built for it, but later a new car was commissioned and Prudhomme got the seat. In fact Baney sold both the dealerships and went on the road match racing with his son and Don with that second car, the one that became the Shelby Super Snake.

Sammy Swindell was one of the most likeable guys on the World of Outlaws tour, he always had time for the fans, especially kids, in the pits after the race.
