ORIGINAL DEUCE SPLASH APRON
« on: December 23, 2015, 12:34:15 AM »
I'm chasing a decent original 1932 Ford splash apron, the one that fits below the grille shell. I am sick of the reproduction ones that just don't fit and require a lot of modification if you can get them to fit so an original would be nice. Can anybody help. Thanks

MANY OF THE AFTER MARKET SPLASH APRONS ARE SHORTER TO FIT LOWERED CARS AND THE ORIGINALS ARE A COUPLE INCHES LONGER.   MEASURE

Yeah I'm aware of the shorter splash aprons for clearance but thats not the problem with the repops. They are not wide enough and they dont follow the exact profile of the chin on the grille shell. Lots of cutting and welding to get them to fit properly. I did buy a repop shortend version of the splash apron and it was absolute rubbish. The swages were all wrong, it was 22 gauge steel and nowhere near close to fit. It ended up in the bin. It's about time repop parts were made in the USA again and hopefully that will happen when hot rodders get sick and tired of parts from Asia that dont fit.
