Not a coupe but a neat old sedan we have in the shop doing some safety upgrades.
Other than the missing 471 blower,it is exactly as it was built in the early 60,s

Very well done, looks great. Whose rails?

I built the car on an original A frame Kicked up 4" in the rear and a flat front crossmember.  The side rails are 10 g. steel gusseted out from the frame with 3/4" half round stock plug welded from the back side to mimic a reveal.  Thanks!

Here is a little info on my coupe.  I built this car in the late eighties, early nineties and the only things I did not do myself were engine and trans internals and pull the trigger on the paint gun.  I spent nearly seven years working mostly in my spare time.  It runs  327 Chev. w/ T/350 and Ford 9" w/ 350 ratio. (scoots out pretty good!) I chopped and filled the roof and picked up a couple VW doors for the window mechanisms and latches, which are cable operated.  It is sitting on an a modified original A frame. The dash is '36 Ford and the seat is from an S 10 pickup which I sectioned to fit.  From the beginning I had planned to run a full hood and figured I would keep the wheel base stock so I could use a stock style hood which I got from Rootlieb.  It has a Super Bell Front axle w/ Pete & Jakes four bar and Mustang steering, brakes are early Volvo.  Also, Pete & Jakes ladder bars in the rear w/coilovers.  It has heat and AC.  The car sat in DP40 w/red wheels for years and I just got used to it and decided to go with those colors..  I would like to go back and redo a few things but I started a couple other projects and can't seem to find the time.  Plus, it has been my theory to just leave it alone and move on.  If I had it to do over again it would be a different car but this is what I came up with twenty-five years ago.  A few more pics.

Lots of smiles per miles were had in this one. Who says the young guys don't have the right idea. Now he's building a 29 roadster with Riley 2-port power.

Looks like a Plymouth windshield to me.  Interesting idea, albeit not appealing to me.  I've seen a '32 windshield & header grafted onto a '29, but I've never seen it done to a '31.

That is a really nice color on this body style. Do you know if it is a custom mix or a production color?  It is hard to tell in a jpeg.  Very cool Model A.  thanks for posting.

Is the owner of this car on this site?  I have always appreciated the understated beauty of the proportions this coupe has.  There is a lot of work done on this car, I applaud the builder for such innovative details on this car.   I have never seen it in person, but I hope to some day.  This side view pic was posted on the HAMB a few years ago, I always keep a look out for it when I am at the So Cal shows.  I would love to see a 3/4 front view.
If anyone knows this car or owner, please chime in and tell us about it!

No progress on the actual car, but parts gathering is going great! 5.0l Roller Engine, T5 Trans and clutch, fenders, hood and hood sides, grill and rad, running boards and splash aprons, frame , gauges, etc. *** Need to find a reasonable priced trunk lid though - was a rumble seat car.

The second photo is Rolf's red highboy from the PNW, I always liked how he ran the exhaust from the lake style headers, back over the frame rail in front of the firewall, and then under the body. he also had them coated silver, but blacked out the one pipe so you really didn't notice it going back over the rail. The eighth photo is a 32 Chevy from Ontario Canada.  ;)
